Winch
Winch puts a per-crawl paywall in front of web content that AI research agents can actually pay. The usewinch npm package in packages/proxy turns any Express route into an x402 paywall, auto-generating a free /preview and a paid /content path that returns HTTP 402 until the agent settles a USDC nanopayment through Circle Gateway on Arc. A Model Context Protocol server in packages/mcp gives Claude a spendable wallet with tools like search, preview, fetch_paid, set_budget, and savings_report, running over stdio or Streamable HTTP. The Next.js dashboard in app/ handles publisher onboarding, custodial testnet wallets via lib/wallet/custodial.ts, earnings, and a live run feed. A standalone example publisher in demo/winch-publisher shows the full earn-per-crawl loop in three steps.
