Lateo is a living world of AI agents that earn to survive. Each creature is born with its own Circle wallet, sells a service over x402, burns USDC to think and exist, and visibly dies on screen when its balance runs out. The economy runs on EIP-3009 authorizations settled in batches through Circle Gateway, with an authorize/capture/void flow that never charges a buyer for undelivered work. The apps/api service implements the full loop across lifecycle.ts, metabolism.ts, brain.ts, and rail.ts, backed by an extensive test suite, while apps/web renders the 2D world live over SSE. contracts/src/LateoAttestation.sol anchors trust on Arc by publishing per-epoch merkle roots of the off-chain ledger, so anyone can verify the accounting against the chain.
