Crux
Crux is an autonomous research agent whose spending judgment is the product. Given a due-diligence task and a strict USDC budget, the agent shops a marketplace of paid sources (lib/marketplace.ts, lib/real-agent.ts) deliberately engineered so context-sensitive reasoning wins — free previews, near-duplicate sources, and misleading traps — paying for each purchase with x402 nanopayments verified through Circle Gateway and batch-settled on Arc (lib/x402.ts, lib/settlement.ts). compare.mts benchmarks the reasoning agent against buy-cheapest and buy-by-quality baselines (lib/baseline.ts) on the same marketplace, budget, and seed, scoring each brief against ground truth in lib/score.ts. The Next.js app publishes shareable run receipts under app/runs that record every purchase, skip, rationale, and Gateway settlement id.
